Alex McDonald

Alex McDonald is an experienced civil litigation lawyer with over 25 years’ experience representing and advising clients on a wide range of commercial and civil cases including disputes involving contract, equity and trusts, wills and estates and civil aspects of family law. She has dealt with cases at all levels of the New Zealand court system including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Alex has particular experience in acting for clients in cases under the Family Protection Act 1955, Relationship Property Act 1976, Testamentary Promises Act and Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988 including proceedings involving breach of fiduciary duty by persons holding enduring powers of attorney. Alex also has expertise in dealing with applications under the Administration Act 1969 and the Trustee Act 1956 including applications for the removal of administrators and trustees. She has also acted for clients in estate matters involving lack of testamentary capacity and undue influence.
